About the Role 

The New York City environmental planning and socioeconomics practice is seeking a Planner to support our diverse portfolio of public, private, institutional, and non-profit projects in the metropolitan area. Our team specializes in environmental planning and permitting, with extensive experience navigating New York City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR), New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Job Responsibilities :

• Preparation and development of various sections of environmental review and planning documents, including land use and zoning, open space, and urban design analyses.
• Coordination of environmental review and planning documents, including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements in accordance with CEQR, SEQRA, and NEPA.
• Management of in-house technical disciplines and other consultants in the development of environmental documents.
• Coordination with clients, other consultants, and agencies.
• Tracking of projects, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.

Essential Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge and interest in architectural history and historic research is a plus.
• Familiarity with the City’s Uniform Land Use Approval Procedure (ULURP) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
• Experience using project management tools and software, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint) and GIS.[LL1] 

Compensation

Compensation will range from $68k to $74k[LL2] , and commensurate with experience.
